Adpative Wear is for Everyone
Hello! Welcome to this week’s blog. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below if you have time. Thank you.
Since I launched ComfortClothing Adaptive Wear, I’ve had many positive suggestions & comments the general theme offered is that adaptive clothing is reserved for senior citizens or those with reduced ability to dress themselves. Those are certainly part of the market, but clothes that are designed for independent dressing are useful for people of all ages, genders and none.
We are turning towards Autumn these days with plenty of talk about returning to school, college, and for many for the first time in a long time, back to the office for work. This means mornings are about to get a little more stressful and time-bound and that means getting yourself organised a little bit in advance. Thinking back to our pre-Covid world, consider the many times you have struggled with knotting a tie or zipping up a dress while trying to get out the door on time. Sure, if you are living with others, you can ask someone to do it for you…but even then you can often forget and wind up trying again in the car or on the train.
Adaptive Wear is often as simple as a small design change or feature alteration to place zips, magnets or Velcro in places that they can be accessed easily by the wearer. Consider too, that some debilitating conditions are not confined to older age groups – many people in their 30s, 40s and 50s may be silently struggling with an early-stage condition or simply have reduced capacity for movement.
Our collection includes stylish dresses that can be zipped up the side (arm and leg) with a discreet zipper and handle. For the men, there’s shirts with magnets for closing and a selection of ties that can be popped on easily over the head without the need for fancy knotting.
ComfortClothing makes it easier (& speedier) for you to dress yourself and others this Autumn! www.comfortclothing.ie
